As we eagerly await the arrival of Baby Verdi - who is officially 4 days late - it seems like a good a time as any to catch up on some blog posts! (Mind you I still have four trips to document - Italy, Chile, Colorado, and Maine - but those require quite a bit of concentration.) In the meantime, I'm excited to share the photos my mother-in-law Mindi (Photography by Verdi) took of my baby shower in late August. Thrown by my mother, Nancy, and two sisters, Patrice and Olivia, it was a lovely morning visiting with family and friends. The shower was held at Avino's Italian Table in Bellport on Long Island, with breakfast/brunch and cake served. And though my face throughout may look a bit stressed (lots of eyes and gift opening is overwhelming!) it was a great morning, and Jared and I were overwhelmed by the generosity of the people in our lives. We cannot wait to welcome our little one into such a kind and supportive family and community of friends.
